Jamshedpur Resort and Farm Limited is a newly established company set up on September 7, 2016 to purchase enough land located at Pakitaki, Tamabil Road (Towards Jaflong), Jaintiapur in the district of Sylhet along the main Dhaka-SylhetHighway N2 leading to Jaflong (in Bangladesh) and Meghalaya (in India).  The Highway on which the project is located has been declared 6 lanes and officially opened for construction by the Prime Minister of Bangladesh in the beginning of 2019.  The Indian border check post in Tamabil is about 30 km from the project.

The name ‘Jamshedpur’ has been given by the principal promoter Dr. Jamshed S A Choudhury, an Academic, Chartered Accountant and Entrepreneur as per his First name to establish a project in semi-rural areas of his native district Sylhet, in Bangladesh.  This idea was developing for many years from the vast experience of visiting such projects in many countries of Asia, Europe and North America.  It was just a good fortune that the promoter located this parcel of land suitable for the project in his native district which is about 19 km from his ancestral home in Phulbari, Golapgonj, Sylhet.  The project is currently being set up as an Agro Farm catering Fish Culture and Processing.  The present owner will keep the existing agro nature of the farm but will add a Resort consisting of a 40 Bedrooms Hotel with conference facilities to cater for business and holiday makers.  The project is very ideally located – about 24 km from the Sylhet City Centre, 20 km from Ratargool Swamp Forest and 34 km from ‘Jaflong’ on the main Dhaka-Sylhet Highway N2.

The Agro part of the project took nearly two years and now about 50% completed with a beautiful long Canal (in three sides) and three large Fish Ponds.  The balance agro unit of 50% will be completed by June 2023.  The Resort part consisting of a World Class Hotel of 40 Bedrooms with Conference Facilities must be developed in its entirety but along the surrounding of the agro farm to give a farm based Resort experience to its visitors and guests.  This may take another 1-2 years to complete.  The Hotel project including the complete infrastructure and agro unit will be completed by June 2025.

Given the opportunity of establishing a Resort with an Agro farm in such a nice part of Sylhet district along the main Highway to bordering India, this project will not only earn excellent investment returns for the investors, it will also create semi-rural essential employment opportunities for hundreds of off-farm agricultural population in addition to contributing in GDP of our beloved Bangladesh.
